V.i. Labs Receives Windows Qualification Certification for Components of CodeArmor Technology

Certification Allows Transparent Protection of Applications Developed using Microsoft .NET Framework

Waltham, MA - March 14, 2007 -V.i. Laboratories, Inc. (“V.i. Labs”), a provider of software protection solutions for securing high-value and mission critical applications, announced today its has obtained Microsoft’s Windows Qualification certification for secure container technology used within its CodeArmor for .NET solution. This certification enables CodeArmor for .NET to operate transparently while protecting customer’s software applications from being decompiled and reverse engineered.

V.i. Labs secure container technology had to pass a number of rigorious qualification tests on Windows 2000, 2003, and Vista 32-bit and 64-bit platforms to achieve this level of certification. The certified secure virtual storage technology allows the application run-time component of CodeArmor to create a secure virtual area and continually protect and control access to sensitive .NET software as the application executes. V.i. Lab’s implemented this technology to be completely interoperable with Microsoft’s .NET Framework.

“Unlike native Windows applications, .NET applications are deployed in a form that makes them extremely susceptible to being decompiled into source code and reverse engineered.” said Victor DeMarines, VP of Products at V.i. Labs. “Encrypting code alone would offer little defense against reverse engineering within a .NET environment. We created a protection approach that allows our advanced encryption and active run-time countermeasures to be effective within a .NET environment.”

The Microsoft certified technology is immediately available in CodeArmor for Microsoft .NET product.
