Nalpeiron Selects V.i. Labs’ CodeArmor to Protect Its Unique License Activation Software
Nalpeiron to Leverage CodeArmor for .NET to Protect Corporate and ISV Customers' Software from Piracy and Reverse Engineering
Waltham, MA — April 24, 2007 —V.i. Laboratories, Inc. (“V.i. Labs”), a provider
of software protection solutions for securing high value and mission critical applications,
announced that Nalpeiron has selected CodeArmor to add strong anti-reverse engineering
capabilities to its software licensing and user activation products and services.
Nalpeiron offers a product and hosted activation service that allows corporate and
ISV customers to implement secure software activation, registration and license
management features. The company's flagship solution, Pro-Tector software development
kit, enables customers to add software activation and licensing to a variety of
development platforms, including software applications running on the Microsoft
.NET Framework.
“We are seeing as much as 30 percent of our prospective clients using the Microsoft
.NET Framework for their software products, and many of these customers are concerned
about how easy it is to reverse engineer .NET applications,” said Jon Gillespie-Brown,
Founder and CEO of Nalpeiron. “V.i. Labs’ solution is unique in its ability to
protect both native and .NET software applications and offer an out-of-the-box product
solution that matches our own business model. By coupling a .NET protection solution
with our software licensing and activation services we can meet our client’s complete
requirements.”
Nalpeiron solutions fall within the software digital rights management (DRM) market.
Spending on DRM software and hardware to protect entertainment, commercial software,
and other information will exceed $9 billion dollars over the next five years, according
to a new market research report from Insight Research Corp.
“We are extremely pleased Nalpeiron chose our software protection solution for their
services. Their customers have validated the trend we have been seeing for combining
software protection with license management,” said Joe Noonan, CEO of V.i. Labs.
“CodeArmor protection capabilities will allow Nalpeiron to reach out to customers
that have been hesitant to increase Web base distribution of their software because
of concerns around piracy and intellectual property theft.”
