CodeArmor Intelligence

CodeArmor Intelligence is a V.i. Labs product platform that enables software providers to create actionable intelligence on the use and misuse of their software applications. The CodeArmor platform enables software providers to incorporate data collection, tracking, and detection of misuse capabilities directly into their applications as well as own, manage, and act on the resulting intelligence within a flexible SaaS infrastructure. The CodeArmor platform has been successfully integrated and deployed in large software vendors’ environments without impact to their customers or use of the product.

Unlike software protection, Digital Rights Management, or license enforcement technologies, the CodeArmor Intelligence product can be integrated and deployed without impact to customer environments and with minimal impact to software development lifecycle.

Software Development Kit (SDK) and API

CodeArmor provides a SDK and template libraries that enable integration of data collecting, application response, and reporting capabilities for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X application environments. Included is a flexible API and configuration utility that allows software providers to customize their integration of data collection and reporting functionality for their specific application needs. The API supports native misuse detection including file tampering and custom detection approaches such as hardware dongle emulator detection, invalid license format, and detection of overuse through integration of Flexera, SafeNet, Reprise, and other third party license enforcement platforms. In addition, software providers can leverage the API to customize their applications behavior in response to piracy including error notification, amnesty processes, and application revoke behavior.

Gateway Server

An application server that centrally aggregates usage data received from applications incorporating the CodeArmor client libraries. The server augments the information with location data, processes any defined data rules, and securely sends the data to the CodeArmor Compliance and Usage Reporting Dashboard or outputs the processed data for custom reporting using XML log files. The gateway server can either be deployed within the software provider’s data center or V.i. Labs secure hosting data center option.

CodeArmor Intelligence Dashboard

An application built on the Salesforce.com Force.com platform to allow organizations to securely view, filter, report and manage their usage and misuse data collected by CodeArmor. The dashboard relies on the scalable, secure, and multi-tenant Salesforce.com SaaS platform. Once provisioned, access control and management of the data is in complete control of the software provider. The dashboard application can be installed on a standalone instance of Force.com or alongside Salesforce.com CRM application for tighter integration.

Standard reports and dashboard views are provided, but the software provider can easily extend the reports and data views without any custom coding. For managing data on misuse, the dashboard application provides automated approach to organizing large sets of infringement data, scoring the data, and allowing actionable compliance leads to be easily acted on.
