Overview
CodeArmor Intelligence is a turnkey system that allows software providers to easily
build threat detection and reporting functions into their applications, centrally
collect and manage data corresponding to the threats, and centrally report on the
information to take further action.
CodeArmor Intelligence Key Capabilities
- Turnkey Threat Detection and Reporting - Provides an easy process to implement threat
detection and reporting functions within software applications and includes the
backend reporting infrastructure to lower implementation complexity and cost.
- Flexible threat detection - Provides configurable tamper detection for application
executables and DLL files as well as an interface for triggering reporting based
on threats that the application itself can detect.
- Configurable data collection - Once triggered, the reporting function can collect
environment information and specifics about the threat encountered to help identify
the individual or organization operating the software.
- Secure reporting - CodeArmor Intelligence offers several level of reporting processes
including stealth mechanisms to maximize threat reporting. Once information is collected
it is encrypted prior to communication.
- Low infrastructure costs - The CodeArmor Intelligence solution provides a Web gateway
server and leverages Salesforce.com to simplify backend data management and reporting.
- CodeArmor Intelligence Plug-in for Salesforce.com - A plug-in installed in Salesforce.com
to allow threat and infringement data to be easily viewed, managed, and reported
on. Organizations need only to setup their own instance of Saleforce.com at a minimal
cost to enable this feature.
Applications
Piracy Business Intelligence for software vendors - CodeArmor Intelligence provides
the technology for V.i. Labs Piracy Intelligence
solution. The solution enables software vendors to gather intelligence on adoption
of pirated versions of their software, identify organizations using infringed versions
of their software, and directly recover lost license revenue.
System Components
CodeArmor Intelligence delivers an end-to-end system that allows software providers
to detect and report on software application threats and allow the multiple roles
within an organization to easily access the data from the Web.

- Software Development Kit (SDK) - Provides a flexible programming interface and utilities
to enable software providers to embed threat detection, data collection, and reporting
functions within application software.
- Web Gateway - A Java Servlet application that is deployed in the software provider’s
network and receives data from the CodeArmor Intelligence instrumented applications,
processes it, extends the information, and securely post the data to provider's
instance of Salesforce.com. The data is also stored in a XML data file to support
integration with internal reporting systems.
- CodeArmor Intelligence plug-in for Salesforce.com - A plug-in that enables software
providers to organize collected infringement data into a format that can easily
be filtered, reported, and managed. The plug-in provides initial workflow and notification
rules as well as a piracy lead dashboard. Because the data is available through
the Salesforce.com web interface; legal, product management, sales, and other compliance
representatives within the software providers organization can easily access and
export the data. Alternatively, the Salesforce.com APIs and partner infrastructure
allow information to be directly integrated with internal CRM systems (e.g., Seibel,
SAP, Oracle).
